MY CONTRIBUTION
Full design ownership over the MVP platform
-
I embraced a new open-source design system that facilitated rapid turnaround and ensured a polished, cohesive visual language throughout the platform.
-
My efforts ensured that every visual element not only adhered to design principles but also enhanced user engagement and satisfaction.
End-to-End Design: From Discovery to Delivery
-
The project began with an intensive competitive analysis and a thorough UX audit of the existing analytics section.
-
This discovery phase was crucial in identifying pain points and opportunities for improvement. I led the design process from this initial research through to the final product delivery.
-
The outcome was a comprehensive feature list that was rigorously vetted with stakeholders for business feasibility.
-
We then crafted wireframes and components, iteratively refining them based on continuous feedback, leading to the creation of high-fidelity mockups.
By presenting compelling narratives that linked user needs to design solutions, I was able to energize the team and build consensus around the project's goals.
Prototyping and Figma Expertise
-
Utilizing Figma, I integrated the latest functionalities, such as variables, to create dynamic and interactive prototypes.
-
This enabled stakeholders and team members to experience and test the design in a real-world context, facilitating more informed feedback and iterations.
Final Handoff and Developer Collaboration
-
The culmination of the project involved a meticulous handoff to developers, complete with detailed annotations and specifications.
-
Using Figma's dev mode, we ensured that every aspect of the design was clearly communicated, facilitating a smooth transition from design to development.
MY LEARNINGS
Fast-paced nature of a start-up
Before joining, I was taught to follow a rigid, structured design process. But, I had to understand that sometimes there simply isn’t time and resources. For a startup, building out functionality and shipping as fast as possible is the priority.

Communication is key
Each team had different priorities and outcomes they needed to deliver. So, in order to gather useful feedback from them, I needed to present my design decisions tailored to each team's interests.
